History and Experience
Lisa Ribes, RLA, has 9 years of landscape architecture experience in Arizona, New Zealand, and Illinois. Lisa grew up in rural Illinois with a grandfather who was an artist/master gardener and a father who was a cartographer. From a very young age, Lisa gained the knowledge and skills in creating unique places through the use of indigenous (and sometimes exotic) plants, materials and skilled/accurate craftsmanship. Little did she know, but Lisa was a landscape architect before she knew there was such an occupation.
Lisa moved to Arizona in 2000 to pursue landscape architecture and to experience the unique and rare environment and ecology that the desert southwest offers. It is within Arizona that Lisa has become a registered landscape architect and where she has worked with federal, state and local agencies, special interest groups, business stakeholders and neighborhood/community associations to communicate information and issues and work toward successful design.
A year of living and working abroad in New Zealand provided Lisa a completely different palette of plants and materials to work with! What she learned is that personal, collaborative and innovative design is a universal philosophy that spans all corners of the globe.
It is this sensible and honest approach that Lisa continues within LJ Design & Consulting. Her clients appreciate that she considers their needs and realities within her designs. This is what LJ Design & Consulting will offer you and is why we come highly recommended.
